Though the role of the doula is ancient, many people are unsure about what a doula actually does.

Perhaps ‘pregnancy and birthing partner’ is a more modern label we could use, if a little less trendy.

I offer  practical and emotional support, to get you ready for the birth, prepared and supported throughout!

I can come to hospital, birthing centre or your home. I am able to support you if you live within an hour’s drive from Meopham.

What does a doula do during pregnancy?

Before you give birth, we will have a couple of sessions to get to know each other and talk about your wishes for the birth.

I will support you practically and emotionally  and make sure that you are ready.

I am your advocate, helping the midwives and other healthcare professionals to work together around your wishes and birth plan and  have a deep understanding of the physiology of birth and am there to help support and empower the birthing person.

Following the birth, my role is to make sure you and baby are thriving and growing together well and confidently.

My fitness knowledge, own experience of birth and recovery, breast-feeding expertise and problem-solver all come together to give you the best support I can possibly give you once baby is in your arms.

I can also create your bespoke, post-natal recovery programme to start the healing process through exercise and massage.
